Thunderbolt
send me to dream
beneath this tragic sky
brace my racing thoughts
against the fevered wash
of a spring rain
light the heavens
with vengeance
as your wild beating echoes
across these blazing plains

Thanks, John!
YOU ARE very graciously welcome.
I love “brace my racing thoughts / against the fevered wash / of a spring rain.” I picture a warm deluge so solid and sturdy you could almost lean on it. We have recently known nature’s vengeance in these parts, a series of tornadoes that ripped a path of destruction through Dayton. Two couples I know lost their homes. π¦
Awe Joan, that’s too bad. I live in what used to be known as Tornado Alley. They can bring terrible destruction!
You have captured the fury of the wild weather lately.
It has surely been crazy, stormy!
Wow Lana, beautifully expressed! Great poem.
