Old man sleet
dragging in off the train
a weary a ice-laden hobo
piercing this morning's first moments
bones bruising
swirling frozen
drifting fragments
the deep breath of cold
shooting upon my windows
There's an outbound train coming
I just want you to know...

  1. Sleet is a rather rare phenomenon requiring falling precipitation accompanied by just the right drop in temperature. A very transitory state, so your description of sleet as “a weary ice-laden hobo” that might jump off an inbound train, or jump on an outbound one is quite apt. You captured Sleet well in this personification. πŸ™‚
