The Elusive Cardinal

Red bird come hither

gliding softly through the snow

stay with me awhile

The first snow of the season brought something new and unexpected to our backyard: cardinals.  They were so striking that I thought it would be great to have them visit all the time.  My husband told me that we would not be able to accomplish this feat.  Behold a visit to the local Wal-Everything Store and the bird food aisle.  There I found Premium Cardinal Seed Blend with safflowers and sunflowers seed mixed in.  I am happy to report that I have proven him wrong.  He has since worked out a successful system of feeding the “mafia” doves away from the cardinals.  No seriously, these doves are Mob Wives’ fans.
